The School Counselor's Role
School counselors advocate for students. Through individual and small group counseling, we help students with any problems they encounter that may inhibit their learning experiences. Classroom guidance lessons are also conducted to assist students in acquiring skills essential to their future success. These skills are aligned with the district, state and national (ASCA) school counseling standards and focus on the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed for successful academic achievement, career development, and personal social growth.
